Arkansas State Fair Security is hiring for the 2024 Arkansas State Fair.  Applicants need to apply in person on September 21 at 9 am in the Farm & Ranch Building on the State Fairgrounds.  The following positions are available:

 

Parking Attendant:
Our Parking Attendants are energetic and enthusiastic people that assist patrons, staff and exhibiters to find the best parking here at the Arkansas State Fairgrounds. They help maintain safe speeds for vehicles while welcoming our guests. Some of the duties will include but not limited to:
1. Manipulating vehicles to take advantage of the parking space available
2. Use of Hand Signals and lights to direct patrons, staff and exhibiters to open parking spaces
3. Position or remove barricades to prevent parking in certain areas
4. Help Patrons locate their vehicles
5. Greet Patrons with a positive attitude and big smile
6. Assist Everyone when they enter or exit the Fairgrounds
7. Be able to give directions to visitors on where the best food stands are or directions to highway or other destinations

Gate Operations Assistant:
Be the GOAT of our organization by joining our team of Gate Operation Assistants. By joining our Gate Operations Team, you will help keep everyone safe here at the Arkansas State Fair. Help us maintain the safest fair possible by being enthusiastic, positive and detailed oriented. Some of the duties will include but not limited to:

1. Greeting Patrons with a positive attitude and big smile
2. Being professional while conducting a security screen of our patrons, staff and exhibiters
3. Conduct detailed security checks on bags, strollers and wheelchairs
4. Prevent Contraband like guns, knives, pepper spray and other weapons from entering the fairgrounds
5. Operate various equipment and technology to identify dangerous objects that might be on people
6. Control Entry and Exit points for gates
7. Notify the Gate Operations Security Officer of any problems or issues that may arise
Event Staff:
Our Event Staff are fun and outgoing people that have a great time while they are working here at the Arkansas State Fair. They can be seen helping at our Livestock shows, Pageant/Talent shows and of course, our Concert/Entertainment Stage Area. Some of the duties will include but not limited to:

1. Monitoring crowd sizes and crowd traffic to ensure everyone’s safety
2. Stage access and control
3. Friendly and positive attitude when dealing with patrons is a must for this role
4. Monitor attendees for suspicious behavior and prohibited items
5. Assist in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies or evacuations
6. Report any incidents or suspicious behavior
7. Provides guests with helpful directions and/or suggestions that will enhance their entertainment experience
